Two places that help for free.

Ask your plan

Request a case manager.

Many health plans can assign a case manager to help coordinate behavioral-health care, identify an actually available provider, and keep a complex request moving. Call the member-services number on your card and ask whether case management is available. Get the name, reference number, and next step in writing. A case manager works for the plan; keep your own records too.

Free real-person help

DMHC’s Help Center is free.

If DMHC regulates your plan, real people at the Help Center can help you understand the complaint or IMR process at no charge. Call 1-888-466-2219. Confirm your regulator before relying on a filing route or deadline.
